SIR JURY'S CLAN
(Artist comments are at the bottom of the page.)
MEDEA SIN DOSSIER
Description: Surgeons are the elite war-like followers of Sir Jury. Like Medea Sinners, they seek to eradicate the scourge of Dis Yze. Sir Jury's tactics are often considered disagreeable to Medea Sinners (and vice versa), which has led to several injurious confrontations prior to The Truce.
Hierarchy: Surgeons ascend rank by defeating someone of higher rank in mortal combat. Once an opponent is technically "dead," the victor must successfully resuscitate and repair the loser back to a living state to prove their mastery over life and death techniques. A victor who fails to resuscitate his opponent (intentionally or not) does not advance in rank, nor is he penalized. Occasionally, personal or grudge matches will have NO CODE or DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) rules, with the intent of only one survivor at the outcome.
Modifications: Sir Jury's soldiers will often have "extraneous" organs removed from their bodies (appendix, gallbladder, spleen, reproductive organs, bowel, stomach, parts of the liver or pancreas) in order to make them more efficient warriors (lighter, improved balance, faster waste transit, less internal organs to damage). In other cases, duplicate or altered organ transplants will be present for combat reasons as well (extra lung, heart, or primitive back-up "brain" in pelvic area). Some take great pride in their scars, while others have them removed entirely in order to hide their altered states.
High Ranking Known Members:
- Sue Chur - second only to Sir Jury but more feared. Combative suture technique involves "spider" style, "wire fu", and fatal bondage. Pure NO CODE fighter.
- Orto - (orthopedic surgery) Half-mech, half-human. Unusual weakness for choco-pies.
- Plastixxx - (plastic surgery) Subdermal implants allow him/her to dramatically change appearance at will. Weapons disguised as normal body parts. Leads a few secret careers as different K-pop personalities, including the "nice one" in FinK.I.L.L.
- "Thor" - (thoracic surgery) No internal data due to a chest wall that is impenetrable to scanning as well as physical damage.
- Vaz - (vascular surgery) Dual heart, although second heart is frequently relocated.
- Creepy Chuckie Chu ("chuk-chu"="spine") - (neurosurgery) Sentient acting peripheral neural bundles, i.e. body and limbs can act independent of brain.
Strengths:
1.) Dedicated and fearless (the "fear" center is often lobotomized early in their recruitment).
2.) Become more aggressive with less sleep.
3.) Exceptionally accurate with bladed/sharp weapons.
4.) Really good at sewing.
Weakness:
1.) Pride/arrogance is always their tragic flaw.
Myrrh Mar's Progress Notes: It's best to have recent total body scans of any surgical opponent prior to confrontation. An opponent with an unknown extra heart, lung or dual tract spinal cord can mean really bad karma

DRAWING COMMENTARY
My Notes: The primary idea in this drawing was to draw a "battle hanbok (Corean dress)" incorporating my usual themes of the old and the new, innocence and threat, beauty and brutality. The skull and adjoining vertebrae is meant to be a mask rather than a necklace, as worn by the figure on the far right. The varied blades, chainsaw and multi-lens goggles are nods to the surgical profession. The markings on the man's face (to the left) are the in the same pattern as on Corean yangban masks. His shirt has "Han" written on it - which has multiple meanings including: "one," "Corean," or "deep Corean anger/angst," interestingly enough. The One Eyed Kitty logo is somewhere in here too.
The model for this drawing is Sandy, whom I also used in the drawing below, for reasons which are obvious enough :
