Sai Onassis: This one was drawn the week after Boards also. It started off as a simple desire to draw a pair of jeans ... honest!
Her name is Sai Onassis, like "cyanosis," which is a lack of proper oxygenation causing the lips and the skin to turn blue. Those weapons in her hands and on her belt are called "sais." The hand symbols on her shirt are Buddha gestures, because she's all about Asian pride, baby.
Sai is not a new character though. I originally drew her over 5 years ago during medical school. The original version is at the bottom of the page. She's one of the trinity of femininjas (tm) comprised of herself, Myrrh Mar, and Ace. The three of them appear here from a sketch I did in 1994. Ace is the good one, Myrrh is neutral, and Sai is the very very bad one.
