This is a real LIGER!
(Thanks for the link, R.C.)

SMALL DREAMS

“What does Roxy (the neighbor’s dog) dream of, ummah?” our four year old boy asks over his pillow.

“Hmm, he dreams of lying on the grass in the sun all day,” Amy answers as I walk in Sun Su’s room.

“What does (… The) LIGER (!) dream of, ummah?” Sun Su asks.

“He dreams of eating cat food and sleeping all day.”

“What does baby dream about?”

“Ooseung dreams of eating candy all day—“

“That she steals out of the fridge when she’s not supposed to!” I add with a glare, to which Ooseung retorts,

“No, mine!”

“What does appah dream about?” Sun Su asks me as I lie between him and Amy.  (Appah means “dad.”)

“Appah,” I answer in third person, “dreams of taking Sun Su to the comic book store, and then we go exercise, and then we go to the library and read books.”

Sun Su looks tickled and wriggles in bed, and then asks,

“What does ummah dream about?”  (Ummah means “mom.”)

“Ummah dreams about riding her bike and taking Sun Su and Ooseung along in the basket,” Amy answers.

“You put us in the basket, ummah?” he giggles with amusement.

“Yep, how else am I going to carry both of you on my bike?” Amy answers matter-of-factly.

Sun Su turns over, thinking about his long day.  Ooseung starts turning the lights on and off.  Amy chases her out of the room.

Sun Su looks at me with delight and mischief in his eyes and whispers,

“Let’s pretend we’re sleeping, appah.”

“Okay.”

Twenty seconds later, I hear the pattern of his sleep breathing kick in.

I wonder what my little boy dreams of.

COREANA'S SECRET

Well, the 2006 FIFA World Cup is upon us.  I honestly have no interest in most sports, but it does warm my half-breed heart to see Corean spirit at its best and brightest.

Knowing my love of Corean spirit with-a-C, a friend (annyoung Christopher!) sent me a few pics proving that the Seoul still burns.

KTFO* HALF-COREAN STYLE

I love mixed martial arts.  Professional no holds barred fighting.  Striking, grappling, knockouts and submissions.  The one thing I would like to see more of is Corean fighters.  This is one reason why:  Denis Kang, half-Corean, winning a quick victory in the latest Pride Fighting Championship tournament (fight starts at 4:22, ends at 4:38).

Awesome.

His official website is deniskang.com.
