Many thank you's to: Min Jung the Birthday Girl,
for the mention in her article about Corean-Americans online in this month's KoreAm,
which is not on sale at my nearest Border's apparently.

Additional thank you's to: Igoo.com (and it's mastermind Bulgogs) for pointing
this out for me.

With this and the KoreAm mention, I think I can die a happy half-Corean now.
(I need to renew my subscription first.)

I am none too happy that those two punks got in the background there.

PINPOINT PUPILS*

I spent last week recovering from my tooth extraction. With a little post-Vicodin dopiness thrown in there.

This week I've contracted some odd viral illness that makes me cough incessantly and sporadically, day and night. I've managed to keep it in check by taking some all-purpose cold/cough tablets as well as a couple teaspoons of baby's cough syrup. After drinking a Dr. Pepper today and peeing until my urine was the color of liquid bronze, I started feeling a little light-headed to the point where I told one of my residents about it.

I can already guess what my resident team evaluations will have to say about me:

"Easy to work with, but needs to wean down on the narcotics."

*(Pinpoint pupils are a sign of opioid toxicity, along with pontine brain stem strokes or hemorrhages.)

SARS-lite

A few nights ago in bed, my coughing got so bad that I knew I was going to wake Amy up (again). So I went downstairs and slept/coughed on the couch the rest of the night.

Amy woke up at 4 a.m. and noticed I was not in bed. She became concerned thinking that I went to the gym at midnight again and got into an accident. She checked our garage, and then saw me asleep on the couch.

She thought I was mad at her.

One interesting thing about all of this is that I have now learned how to cough with my throat open, so as to lessen the intracranial pressure. This means less post-tussive headaches and less chance of a bursting brain aneurysm. Good to know.

So that's partly why no updates of late. I plan on writing about Sun Su's and our baptism soon, since it is one of those important days that journals are made for.

SHAVED COREAN BABES
(or This Title Is Bound To Piss Off At Least One Google Search Inquirer)

Sun Su got his haircut at the Corean hair salon today. He was good until the vibrating shaver was brought out, then he he started dodging his big baby head from left to right in serious baby fear trying to avoid the buzzing head-mulching monster. My boy may not be bald like Shaolin, but he's still phat like Chow Yun.

Sun Su looking forlorn with the baby blues.

"Save me. I'm only a baby. Let me keep my hair."

"I am now a faster more aerodynamic baby. Watch out."

WAITING FOR PROOF OF GODOT

Oh, and Doug (Nilknarf), I am still a critical-thinking atheist, my radioactive friend. I am just getting soft in my godless years. You on the other hand look fifteen years younger without the beard.

MEDEA SIN HOT MODEL

Today's HOT MODEL is

SIMON.

He looks like he could kick some ass.

Simon has been serving our country overseas, putting his courage and life on the line for the country that he believes in. I have the utmost admiration for people like him.

His sister Sarah has been very strong and is doing her best to support him. Even now, the conditions he is living in are still horrible. He won't be sitting in a comfy chair reading or writing opinions on the internet anytime soon. I wish for a safe return home for Simon to his loving family so he has the option of doing just that, like the rest of us.

He is a great Corean-American, and

a great American.
