AMY'S ENTRY :
ELVES AND HALF-ELVES
New Years Eve: I went to work. I ate my leftover Papa Romano's chicken and potatoes. I made some calls to doctor's offices and patients but everyone was closed or not at home.
Scott wanted to see Lord of the Rings. I don't care for fantasy but it was pretty good. I could relate to the Hobbits eating 6 meals a day - 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, and 2 dinners. The elves were the only good looking creatures. I would want to be an elf.
The only thing I couldn't stand was that it was 3 hours long and I felt like my arm and leg muscles were breaking down. I can't tolerate sitting for that long anymore. I think I was in bed by 10.
New Years Day: I kissed Scott good bye for work. I picked up my sister Sue and we went to my parent's for New Years Day. Early on New Years Day, Korean people visit their elders and pay respect by bowing and wishing them a happy and healthy new year. This is called Chesae. When we bow to our elders we get money in exchange. This is the easiest money I make the whole year.

Melanie and Jason (above) are one-quarter Korean. Hanner (in the dark blue hanbok) is 100% Korean. She likes to have her picture taken.
There is always a lot of food and my relatives stop by. The younger and cuter you are, the more money you make from bowing.
This is also the day my grandpa's spirit comes to visit us. We set out food and wine for him and wait until he is done "eating." We pour him more wine and set his chopsticks down by his favorite foods. When he is done eating, we get to eat.
My nieces Hanner ("heaven," on the right above) and Nada ("earth," on the left, growling) wore their traditional hanboks. Everytime I see Hanner, she hugs me and says "My baby boy." My niece's little friend Hanna (the hapa in the middle) came over also wearing her hanbok. Her two brothers came also. Their mother is Korean and their father is Caucasian. The boys are good-looking. I think they are in elementary school. I told them that if they someday want to marry a good looking girl like me, they have to be smart and not just cute. They said they aren't getting married.
One of the little kids saw Xavier (baby below) and said, "Is it wacky hair day?"
Xavier's (the baby nephew) skin is all cleared up. He had a bad case of baby acne and jaundice.
ESTRANGED
I saw my cousin Kevin. He is twenty something and is an elementary school teacher. He had just moved in with his parents temporarily. Apparently one night, Kevin's dad realized he was not in his bed and went to his girlfriend's house and dragged him out. I hope they were not in the middle of anything but how embarrassing! He is now estranged from his family. Scott and I offered our home to him but his job is too far away from here. How embarrassing.
BODY CHANGES
So far I don't have any stretch marks on my belly. I have been rubbing sesame seed oil lotion all over my belly twice a day. I do have hair around my belly button which I am shaving about every three days and my C size bra is getting a little tight.

SCOTT'S ENTRY
These pictures make me so happy. Everything and everyone in them is so beautiful. Especially the fifth one up with my adorable nieces, Nada glaring and Hanner smiling.
Just looking at them made me laugh until I had tears in my eyes, especially that one.
These pictures make me so sad. Because everything and everyone was so beautiful and I couldn't be there. Because I had to be somewhere else (like work).
Those tears stayed in the back of my throat.
But I guess some other people wish they could have been there too.
