Weeks pregnant Amy is:
16.

THE YELLOW KING
(My Amy wrote this entry!)
I went to visit my family this weekend. I saw my parents, my brother and sister in law and my nieces. I saw my new nephew for the first time. I was surprised by how small he looked even though he is eight pounds something. It seems like all dark haired babies have a lot of hair and the hair is really long. My nephew's American name is Xavier and I can't remember what his Korean name is.
Pregnancy makes me not remember as well or I'm so tired, I can't remember as well. I have to write down everything at work now.
Xavier's skin was really reddish-yellow and he had just come back from the hospital to get his blood drawn. His skin was really dry and flaking and he had really long fingernails. I held him and he had his eyes open and his eyes moved from side to side. He must have gotten tired because after he moved his eyes around, he fell asleep.
When Xavier was getting his diaper changed, my five year old niece yelled in Korean "Look at his pepper! He has a pepper just like my dad!" To which I replied, "How do you know?!"
My sister in law got a call from the doctor telling them to come back to the hospital. Xavier's level was too high, I'm assuming this was the bilirubin level. They had to stay at the hospital for a couple days. They put him under the lights with sunglasses on.
My sister in law's family was visiting. Their youngest daughter is 22 years old and still has baby fat. She happened to be in the other room and she was wearing a sleeveless top. Her parents were in the room along with my dad. My dad said "You see her fat arms. That's how you should look." I told him I am gaining weight and my doctor said everything was fine. My dad thinks the bigger and fatter you are, the healthier and stronger you are. I've heard this my whole life with "you don't want to be a weakling, do you?"
I eat as much as I want and whatever I want. I have been trying to eat healthier though. The first three months I ate all day long, non stop. Now, I have slowed down to 3 meals a day with a snack or two in between.
Strange things are happening to me. I notice I am meaner or more aggressive at work (but not to my patients). When I'm home watching TV, my eyes get a little watery when there is something sad on TV. I am reading What To Expect When You're Expecting. It is very informative. I had to shave the hair on my knuckles and my belly. My stomach looked more like Scott's, but not any more.
There are some changes that I like. My breasts are one cup size bigger and my butt is now round and not so flat. I'm having a lot of trouble finding good looking clothes. I did buy a pair of maternity Levi's.
At work, you wouldn't know I was pregnant because I wear a lab coat, except that I am usually short of breath. I am looking forward to 19 weeks when I get another ultrasound and find out the sex of my baby. All along, I feel like it's a boy.
