DDX (1993): "DDX" is medical shorthand for differential diagnosis, which is a list of initial possible diagnoses a patient may have when first seen by a doctor. The above cartoon was drawn during a typical lonely icy hell winter in Michigan. It was a little more autobiographical than my other cartoons. I spent a year pining for a wonderful woman I barely knew, and I eventually got to know her better, and now we're married. Anyways... in the bottom frame, "Bev" refers to a lab tech/janitor who liked to harass medstudents. "Shigella" is a kind of bacterial that gives you diarrhea.
