Braid Blade - Yes, that's a hooked blade at the end of her ponytail. I love ponytails, and topknots. I love drawing hair.
I imagine entire scenes while I'm drawing. In this one, she rests before beginning her death dance of hair-whipping bladed fury.
Her shirt design is another ancient Korean wall painting. Korean culture has so many beautiful things in it, which I never see anywhere. I draw what I wish to see.
I've been drawing mostly petite breast sizes as well. Not because Asian women have small breasts (I have 100 MB of pics to prove otherwise!), but to show how sexy they are, despite what the Boob Surgeons, media, and fashion magazines would have you believe.
Why do so many of the femmes in my drawings have weapons? Because it makes them more powerful, invulnerable, immune to all the dirtiness in this world.
Pure fantasy, I know.
To the left is one beautiful and talented artist's coloring / interpretation of my drawing. Jessi is a true artist and painter (and a friend). Her choice of color and shading really makes this one come alive. I was pretty amazed at her work, and it's only her first coloring attempt. She has plenty of incredible and personal artwork of her own at her site, www.tangerinegirl.com .
