Accurate Response: The accurate response was part of a program to "teach" empathy to future docs. It involved listening to a patient and re-voicing their concerns. In this cartoon, we see Cutthroat's competitive tactics such as putting mistakes in Gunner's Class Notes. This was an in-joke regarding the number of little errors the paid note-takers would occasionally make. Cutthroat expresses what many students felt when he states that "I had a life" prior to medical school (Cutthroat's undead nature was my metaphor for being a medical student without a life). Femininja fatale Ace empathizes, but Cutthroat does the "guy" thing and gets jealous. When she knocks his mask (or shell) off, he briefly regains the humanity he had prior to medical school.
